Don’t dwell, just do

I recently read this quote

“My philosophy on running is, I don’t dwell on it, I do it.” Joan Benoit Samuelson

and my knee-jerk reaction was that this applies to writing too

and housecleaning

and phone calls I dread making.

What could YOU apply this philosophy to? (or do you disagree with it?)

Don’t forget: There’s still time to enter to win a copy of UNCROSS MY HEART by Jennifer Colgan over at  Just do it!!!!

Phone calls, definitely! I have to psych myself up to make phone calls sometimes, especially to make appointments, such a hassle. My problem, I think is I dwell on writing too much and I get bogged down in the dwelling.

  2. Exercising and housecleaning are things that if I dwell on them I have a harder time getting them done. The writing used to be that way, too, but lately I’ve been really good about the ‘just do it’ part. And as long as I don’t dwell on the editing phase, I’ll be fine.

Jen — Dwelling is the enemy

B.E. — Glad you’ve gotten to the point where you can “just do it” with writing!
