A strange new addiction

Call me crazy (c’mon you know you already do) but I’ve got a new obsession. Every day I read the Groupon Coupon…even if I don’t have the slightest interest in what they’re selling because the copy is SO outrageous.

Here’s part of yesterday’s (which was for a fondue place): “Now that spinach has been deemed a performance-enhancing vegetable, Popeye’s future shortstop career hinges on his transition to cheese. Get a sailor’s worth of energizing, melted cheese with today’s Groupon”

Most of the Groupons are like that and now I’m hooked on reading them!

What sorts of brain-draining/time-wasting things do you read/do?

Please don’t count “reading Killer Chicks” among them. Today in Free for All Friday we’re discussing True Crime

  1. Kudos to someone who can take a coupon blurb and make it entertaining.

That’s hilarious and I echo Jennifer – serious kudos for coupon creativity! Does Twitter count? I’m hooked.

I’ve never heard of Groupon Coupon! Must check it out.

Like Joann, I’m finding Twitter to be the biggest time-suck. I could just mindlessly spend hours reading the constant tweeting of people I’ve never met in real life. I did manage to wean myself off of celebrity gossip a la Perez Hilton, though, so that’s a start.

I have a craigslist Missed Connections habit. It’s more under control than it used to be, but some days I read them for way longer than I should admit. http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sfo/774664.html
