Reading, Watching, Listening and Writing 9-15-10

Reading  — A ton of stuff on running. I’ve decided that I can’t do the half marathon in November without risking further injury, so I’ve decided to instead focus on improving my time in the annual Turkey Trot. Nothing like lowering one’s standards to take the pressure off, lol.

WatchingFlashpoint  It’s a Canadian import that airs on CBS about whatever the equivalent of Canadian S.W.A.T. is. It’s not my favorite of Enrico Colantoni’s roles (that would have to be his alien in Galaxy Quest) but I’m liking the performances of Hugh Dillon and the Pink Power Ranger.

Listening  — Cool enough to spend more time outside so I’m going to say birds, bugs and frogs.

Writing — My WIP is crawling along. c-r-a-w-l-i-n-g

What’s keeping you entertained?

Is it sexy? Is it violent? Jennifer Hillier is talking about sex and violence over at Killer Chicks today.

Reading: Just finished a terrific comedic crime novel. Now re-reading Misery by Stephen King. Am loving my new Kindle.

Watching: I already have True Blood withdrawal. Now I’m waiting for the new season of Dexter to start.

Listening: More construction noises. It gives me a light but very steady headache.

Writing: Finished plotting the new WIP. It’s far from perfect but at least I have a plan!

  2. Reading: Paper Towns by John Green (man, he’s good).

Watching: Project Runway (I have no fashion sense whatsoever, but that does not stop me from having opinions about the designers on this show).

Listening: I remember you mentioning listening to Save a Life while trying to kill off a character. I’m experiencing something similar – listening to Rob Thomas a lot and much of his music just totally lifts me, which probably isn’t what I need while rewriting a thriller.

Writing: Walking After Midnight (it has a name, it has a name!!).

Joann — I wish they hadn’t made Runway 90 minutes. I like hearing the assignment and then seeing the finished projects. The rest bores me.

I once wrote a piece featuring incest and murder to Ricky Martin’s Living La Vida Loca so I understand your difficulties!

Woo hoo on nailing down a title!

  3. Reading – Eat, Pray, Love and wishing I had more time to actually sit and read for pleasure. Also reading lots of editing assignments.

Watching – Got caught up in reruns of Project Runway with my daughter. Nothing like watching high strung fashion designers burst into tears for the cameras

Listening – the sound track of One More With Feeling, gotta love it!

Writing – muddling through the 2nd draft of my WIP one torturous page at a time

Jennifer — I liked Eat, disliked Pray, and hated Love so I’m interested in hearing your opinion once you’ve finished the book.

I cry at the drop of a hat, so the crying designers don’t bother me. Klum’s outfits often make me wince though…

Of course you love Once More WIth Feeling!

      Keep on muddling

  4. That should be ONCE More with Feeling – the muscial Buffy episode

I am a SPAZ! I finally posted to KC…but posted in response to YOUR blog today!
(forgive me, I am brainless today!)
So with you on Eat, Pray , Love. Its right up there with “The Secret”- give me a year off to travel to three countries with no kids, dogs, bills, husband. I’ll write a book an call it “WOO – HOO!”
So sad you are not doing the Philly…don’t beat yourself up. You are NOT going backwards, wanting to improve your time..even by 1 min , 3 min or whatever is a new goal and new endeavor! I’ll be trotting too.
I am hoping to say injury-free as well….I have just been sllllloooooowwww.
I’ve got an interesting book, CHI-RUNNING. It may be very very helpful. Do NOT buy it though …okay??? 🙂 Amazon will deliver on Mon.

…and sorry I my spelling is so bad, I think faster than I can type! 🙂

Running — LOVE this: “give me a year off to travel to three countries with no kids, dogs, bills, husband. I’ll write a book an call it “WOO – HOO!”

I’ve read Chi Running. I can see how it would be helpful. I got a bit overwhelmed by all the information you’re supposed to remember while running.
